Hi all,
I'm trying to connect to my linux virtual machine using ssh with X11 forwarding, hoping to use a OpenGL application, and I get the error message in the subject.
If I try to run glxinfo on the mac, everything is fine, but if I do it within my linux VM I get:
~ $ glxinfo
name of display: localhost:10.0
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig
I've tried all possible known ways to connect from the linux box to the mac X11 server, such as:
* ssh -X name@linuxbox
* ssh -Y name@linuxbox
* xhost +linuxbox; ssh name@linuxbox; export DISPLAY=macbox:0 (from within ssh)
I'm using X11 2.3.3.2 from xquartz (xorg-server 1.4.2-apple42, amd Mac OS X 10.5.7.
I've tried with Gentoo (updated weeks ago) and Ubuntu Jaunty, with the same result.
Since I'm running linux from a virtual machine, I've also tried all VMs: VirtualBox, VMWare Fusion, Parallels, with the same result.
The same exact problem is described in this thread, but apparently nobody was able to give an answer:

Hope I'll be more lucky and find somebody with an answer, or at least a vague idea of what's going on ...
Thanks
Daniele
